Current News - june 2010 JULY SEMINAR Embracing the Heat - Enlightening the Mind - Integrated Transformational Meditation. Date and Time: Tue. Jul. 20th, 7:15 pm - 9:30 pm

Content: Engaging the world around us with courage and wisdom in this age of turmoil is the core component of healthy and enlightened living. We need to learn to balance the intuition and intellect to walk this path within our limited life span. We can accomplish these lofty goals through the unification of the heart and mind. In this practical intensive workshop, Master Ping Zhen Cheng will be guiding participants through a step by step practice to achieve these goals. This practice is a synthesis of traditional Eastern meditation, trans-personal psychology and hypnosis. A comparative discussion of Sufi, Zen, Tibetan, Yogic and Taoist paths will be included.
Beginners and advanced meditation practitioners are welcome. Please bring a pillow and blanket to use during the various meditation practices.
Instructor: Master Ping Zhen Cheng
Master Ping Zhen Cheng is currently the director of Zen (Chan) Studies at Beijing's Zhuntifa Dharma College. It is China's first on-line Buddhism Studies College. His lineage is from both Chan & Tibetan Buddhism & and is the founder of Taichizen International. This organization is a network of more than 50 schools throughout the US and China which teaches Enlightenment Studies including "Taichizen".
As a US citizen, Ping returned to China in 2008 to teach an integrated spiritual work of Soto Zen, Yunmen Zen, Dzogchen and trans-personal hypnosis. He has also taught at Guangji Temple in Bejing-China Buddhism Institute, Shambala International, as well as many other institutes throughout China & US. His other accomplishments include serving as director of Physical Arts Dept. for the New York College of Health Professions, Graduate School of Oriental Medicine in Syosett, NY where he lectured on Chinese Medicine, and Qigong. He also developed a Medical Tai Chi curriculum based on Oriental Medicine principles. It was the first of it's kind in US. About Wang Rengang Wang Rengang (pictured on the left), founder of International Dachengdao Kungfu, holds the rank of gold sash in Chinese Wushu. He studied under and is the successor to the well-known Wang Xuanjie, the second generation grandmaster of Dachengquan. Wang Rengang is also the fifth generation successor of Hao Tai Chi Mei Hua Mantis Fist (northern praying mantis). He learned northern praying mantis first from Wang Yue and then from Yue's teacher, Hao Wei Zhi, the fourth generation successor of the northern mantis system. Wang Rengang has participated in and won numerous gold medals in martial arts tournaments worldwide. Competitions where he has placed first include the Liaoning Wushu Performing Competition (Barehanded 60 kg group, 4/28/85); Yuen Tai International Mantis Fist Association (9/28/91); China Qing Dao International Martial Arts Tournament in both the Tanglang Quan (Mantis Fist) and Tanglang Sword (8/27/99); International Wushu Championship sponsored by the North American International Wushu Association (Orlando, Florida, 7/2/00); and the 1st Annual New Century Kung Fu Strike Tournament (New York City, 12/30/00) in the three competitions: Tai Chi Hand Slap, Fist and Sword. |
Wang is one of the founders of the North Dachengquan Martial Arts School, Chao Yan City, Liaoning Province, China. While there he served as assistant head instructor. He currently serves as the Vice-President of two organizations: the Tai Chi Mei Hua Mantis Martial Arts Association and the Dachengquan Martial Arts Society of China. The Chinese government awarded Mr. Wang the status of Certified Grade 1 Wushu (Martial Arts) Judge. He was appointed by the U.S. and China Wushu Association as a judge for free sparring and was a judge in the 2nd Annual New Century Kung Fu Strike Tournament, New York City, 2001. "As teacher, my philosophy is to enable my students to experience the spirit of kung fu so that they may have good health throughout their lives. I have been a student of martial arts for over 30 years and a coach and teacher for over 20 years. I have devoted my studies to the pursuit of a long and healthy life through the practice of kung fu.
