Cheng Style Tai Chi Weekend Classes. 

We're excited to announce new Tai Chi classes under Master SUN Chang-rong. Master SUN Chang-rong trained with Cheng Taichi grandmaster CHENG Zheng-lei. she is gold medalist of numerous martial art tournaments internationally and in China. She will start teaching Cheng style and Yang style Taichi and Taichi sword in our studio from Sept 18th, every Saturday 5 to 6 pm. Tuition is $30 each class or $100 monthly. Dachengdao members will receive 50% off discount.

Embracing the Heat - Enlightening the Mind
                Integrated Transformational Meditation.

Content: Engaging the world around us with courage and wisdom in this age of turmoil is the core component of healthy and enlightened living.  We need to learn to balance the intuition and intellect to walk this path within our limited life span. We can accomplish these lofty goals through the unification of the heart and mind.

In this practical intensive workshop, Master Ping Zhen Cheng will be guiding participants through a step by step practice to achieve these goals.  This practice is a synthesis of traditional Eastern meditation, trans-personal psychology and hypnosis. A comparative discussion of Sufi, Zen, Tibetan, Yogic and Taoist paths will be included.
Beginners and advanced meditation practitioners are welcome.  Please bring a pillow and blanket to use during the various meditation practices.
 
Instructor: Master Ping Zhen Cheng
Master Ping Zhen Cheng is currently the director of Zen (Chan) Studies at Beijing's Zhuntifa Dharma College.  It is China's first on-line Buddhism Studies College.  His lineage is from both Chan & Tibetan Buddhism &  and is the founder of Taichizen International.  This organization is a network of more than 50 schools throughout the US and China which teaches Enlightenment Studies including "Taichizen".

As a US citizen, Ping returned to China in 2008 to teach an integrated spiritual work of Soto Zen, Yunmen Zen, Dzogchen and trans-personal hypnosis. He has also taught at Guangji Temple in Bejing-China Buddhism Institute, Shambala International, as well as many other institutes throughout China & US.

His other accomplishments include serving  as director of Physical Arts Dept. for  the New York College of Health Professions, Graduate School of Oriental Medicine in Syosett, NY where he lectured on Chinese Medicine, and Qigong. He also developed a Medical Tai Chi curriculum based on Oriental Medicine principles. It was the first of it's kind in US.

Comprehensive Da Cheng Quan Seminar Part 2. 

This seminar is part 2 of a 3 part Da Cheng Quan series covering the whole system. The series provides a comprehensive view of the whole system of Da Cheng Quan  designed for both beginners interested in learning and training in Da Cheng Quan  and serious practitioners interested in Dachengdao instructor certification and higher level understanding.  Although the seminar is part of a series, each day will serve as an independent lesson. So if you can only make it for a day you wont be lost.

Master Wang will be presenting a Mantis Seminar at the Chinese Martial Arts Expo – New England 2008

The Foundation for American and Chinese Cultural Exchange, Inc. is sponsoring CMAX-NE 2008, which will be held on October 4, 2008 at the Timothy Edwards Middle School in South Windsor, CT.

The Chinese Martial Arts Expo - New England (CMAX-NE) is one of the premiere non-competitive educational events in the northeastern United States. The days events will include 8 to 12 seminars ( 1-2 hours each), a Masters performance, and optional lunch and banquet.

July 2007 :

:This weekend seven students plus friends and family traveled to Connecticut to compete in the Greater Hartford International Chinese Martial Arts Tournament. We are excited to report that each student who competed came home touting a medal. Overall we put on a stellar performance taking home three gold medals between Mike and Sean(Zhenshen), three silver medals between James, Shaowu and Gary and three bronze medals awarded to Parry, Anthony and Gary. The styles and divisions we competed in include Northern Empty Hand Forms competing in Mantis(Tang Lang Chuan) and Baji as well as the Internal Styles Other division competing in Xingyi. Congratulations to Parry and Anthony who took home medals in the children’s division at their first tournament!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

November 2006 :

The one year anniversary party for the new school was an exciting event. Several masters from the NYC area attended. There were amazing demonstrations of Baji, Crane, tai chi, monkey among others. Pics from the party can be seen on the gallery page. Overall it was a great time and we were all felt lucky to be a part of it.

October 2006 :

International Dachengdao competed in the Annual Tony Yang Gong Fu tournament in Ohio. Anthony took gold medals for Mantis, Xing Yi and push hands. Ed and Wayne faired extremely well fighting in their first Gong Fu tournament competitions. Wayne went head to head with the tournament winner. Ed went up against a Pro and got his bell rung a bit but fought hard none the less. Ed, we feel your pain man. You took it well! Check the gallery for pics.

May 2006 :

International Dachengdao went to The Shaolin Wushu Center and Wushu USA to compete in the 2006 Greater Hartford International Chinese Martial Arts Tournament in Connecticut on Saturday, May 20, 2006. Overall the school was very successful taking home five medals between the four students who went to compete. James took home two gold medals, one in open traditional northern forms and the other in internal forms for xingyi. Matt also took a gold for open traditional northern forms. Gary and Mike took home medals for xingyi. Gary took a gold and Mike took a silver.

April 2006 :

International Dachengdao happily opened the doors to our new school in Elmhurst Queens. After much hard work Master Wang is now operating in his own space.
